peopleCare officially welcomes Delhi LTC to the family

October 24, 2023

peopleCare Communities is thrilled to share that we have acquired Delhi Long-Term Care Centre and the Home is now officially part of the peopleCare family. The 60-bed long-term care (LTC) Home was built in 1972 by local businessman Bill Gheysen, who placed his trust and confidence in peopleCare to manage the Home back in 2011.

“peopleCare has had the pleasure of being part of this wonderful community of residents, staff and families for over 12 years,” says Brent Gingerich, Chairman and CEO of peopleCare. “On behalf of our organization, I would like to thank Bill for his many contributions to local seniors and the Delhi community.”

When peopleCare took over Delhi LTC’s operations, it was always with the intention to expand and modernize the Home to better serve the needs of local seniors. peopleCare was awarded 68 new LTC bed licenses from the Ministry of Long-Term Care and the necessary approvals to redevelop the Home as part of a planned future senior living community.

“peopleCare’s priority is to welcome residents into their bright, modern new 128-bed LTC Home in 2025, and we appreciate the ongoing support of the community and our Norfolk County partners,” says peopleCare President Megan Allen-Lamb. “Our conceptual master site plan also envisions other types of seniors housing, care and services. All to enable more older adults and their families to have their needs met through quality care and life-enriching experiences right here in the community they know and love.”

Being managed by peopleCare for over a decade has given the small, independent rural Delhi LTC Home a foundation of operational excellence and a strategic focus on quality outcomes. Supported by peopleCare’s vision, mission, values, leadership, policies, innovations and more the Home was Accredited with Commendation in 2022. Committed to creating life-enriching experiences, the team introduced sensory-scapes into the Home that resonate with residents who grew up with Norfolk County’s rich farming traditions.
