With new rapid antigen testing technology, peopleCare staff are getting results for COVID and Influenza A/B simultaneously in just 15 minutes. It’s all part of a trial conducted in partnership with St. Michael’s Unity Health in Toronto, funded by Health Canada.

To empower our teams to advocate for each resident, while balancing safety and rights for all, peopleCare has established a new partnership with the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) Clinical Ethics team. Building on our existing ethical framework and practices, LHSC will provide education and regular onsite and virtual support.

peopleCare Hilltop Manor LTC has been named one of only 10 Champion Homes partnering with the Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada to improve medication safety for LTC residents as part of the government’s Strengthening Medication Safety in LTC Initiative.

peopleCare helped shape the future of how COVID vaccines are delivered in LTC homes, with a successful pilot of onsite, timely immunization at peopleCare Oakcrossing, one of only three LTC homes selected in the London area.

As a lead participant in a federally funded collaborative research project, peopleCare is partnering with academic researchers and the Centres for Learning, Research & Innovation in Long-Term Care, to inspire positive change and promote the vital role family members play as care partners in LTC homes.

peopleCare’s upcoming LTC home on the Trent University campus focuses on quality of life for seniors, inspired teaching and hands-on learning for students, research into aging well to inform the sector and health system and community building for years to come.

peopleCare’s AR Goudie LTC Home was one of the first in the province to pilot rapid point-of-care antigen tests, a game-changing testing solution that is now being used in a wide variety of workplace and healthcare settings across the country.

Always looking to partner with other leading organizations and break new ground, peopleCare was pleased to help enable a first of its kind trial delivery of medications by drone at AR Goudie LTC in Kitchener.

peopleCare partnered with Canada’s National Ballet School to bring the transformative power of dance to residents during the pandemic, delivering and evaluating an internet-based, safe and accessible dance program that engages older adults and supports physical, cognitive and overall wellbeing.

A first of its kind in the Canadian LTC environment, peopleCare’s award-winning Clinical Pharmacy Model connects pharmacists directly with residents and staff, and leverages best-in-class software and automated dispensing cabinets.

During this annual camping trip, peopleCare residents thrive outside of their normal routines and share meaningful, intergenerational experiences with staff in a unique outdoor environment.
