peopleCare gives back on Giving Tuesday
Every year, Giving Tuesday is a day that encourages people all over the world to give back in whatever ways they can. And that’s exactly what peopleCare Communities’ annual Beyond Ourselves campaign is all about.
In our communities, peopleCare’s caring teams generously volunteer time and effort, raising funds for causes close to their hearts. On a global scale, our collective efforts support MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates), empowering women, families, and entire communities in developing countries around the world.
What better day than Giving Tuesday for our teams to celebrate exceeding our 2023 goal to raise $100,000 for MEDA. We ventured over to the local MEDA offices in Waterloo, to hear from President and CEO Dr. Dorothy Nyambi and Chief Financial and Investment Officer (CFIO) Wendy Clayson, and engage with the rest of their dedicated team.
Our Executive Directors were pleased to share the many ways their teams stepped up to put the fun in fundraising this year, all in support of those less fortunate. Thank you to peopleCare’s outstanding team members, residents, families and our generous partners for coming together with us to make a difference in the world. We are grateful for your unwavering support and generosity.
Fundraising aside, enabling and raising awareness about MEDA’s important work is also a priority for peopleCare. Our Chairman and CEO Brent Gingerich is on MEDA International’s Board of Directors – dedicated volunteer members who provide governance oversight and expertise in areas such as entrepreneurship, finance and business operations. As a Gold Sponsor of the Waterloo MEDA Network Hub, peopleCare also engaged actively throughout the year, including volunteering and speaking at events.
