peopleCare earns Accreditation with Exemplary Standing

December 3, 2019

Waterloo, Ontario, December 3, 2019 – Having met a remarkable 99.3% of the required criteria, peopleCare is once again Accredited with Exemplary Standing, the highest award possible through Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum program.

peopleCare owners Brent and Heather Gingerich are thrilled the organization has once again demonstrated its abiding commitment to overall excellence and earned this notable distinction.

“Quality is the foundation of our vision to change the world of senior living, and we are very proud to have received this exceptional result,” says Brent Gingerich, Chairman and CEO of peopleCare. “We thank Accreditation Canada for giving us an effective framework to support our ongoing efforts to integrate excellence into our operations, care and services.”

In its written decision, Accreditation Canada commended peopleCare for its commitment to accreditation as a measure of quality, and for going beyond the requirements of the Qmentum program, “peopleCare is a progressive leader in the industry…with an innovative team who are creating better ways to help people age well.”

Among the many strengths highlighted during the accreditation process were peopleCare’s culture of caring, commitment to technological advancements, strong and consistent processes and policies implemented throughout the organization, and track record of establishing meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships focused on positive systemic change.

According to peopleCare’s President, Megan Allen-Lamb, this achievement is a shared success – across the organization and with our many partners – and thanks to a collective focus on quality and continuous improvement.

“peopleCare has a truly outstanding team of accomplished individuals in many different roles, all with an unwavering dedication and focus to deliver on our care commitments each and every day” says Allen-Lamb. “As we celebrate this milestone, we will look to our results as an opportunity to collaboratively build on our strengths so that we continue to innovate, improve and exceed expectations.”

peopleCare was one of the first long-term care operators in Ontario to undertake accreditation, dating back four decades. With this most recent decision, we are now Accredited with Exemplary Standing through November 2023, and will continue to use the principles of accreditation and continuous quality improvement to guide our work.
