peopleCare accelerates innovation through early adopter health network
peopleCare Communities is proud to be one of the first senior living organizations to join OBIO’s Early Adopter Health Network (EAHN™). This opportunity will help remove barriers to innovation and support peopleCare’s priority of leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies to accelerate responsible innovation.
“Sometimes organizations might talk themselves out of trialing new initiatives because of resource concerns,” says Jenn Killing, Vice President Quality, Research and Strategic Partnerships at peopleCare. “Through OBIO®, you can find both partners and funding to try out innovative ideas. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
OBIO® is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization engaged in strategy, programming, policy development and advocacy, providing programs, infrastructure and funding to foster innovation and commercialization of health technologies. Its EAHN™ program matches commercially-ready Canadian health tech companies with healthcare organizations, giving boundary-pushing organizations like peopleCare early access to cutting-edge technologies and solutions. It also enables health tech companies to evaluate their tech in real-world settings and facilitate broad adoption into the health system.
With support from OBIO’s Life Sciences Critical Technologies & Commercialization (LSCTC) Centre of Excellence, peopleCare is partnering with Skinopathy to evaluate an AI-powered technology for wound care. This ground-breaking initiative has the potential to set a new standard in wound assessment, provide tailored, evidence-based treatment options, and improve care for LTC residents.
It will also help Skinopathy to better understand the unique needs of LTC to create sustainable solutions for this sector. Which is exactly the aim of peopleCare’s “Innovating for Tomorrow” priority under Limitless: A Visionary Strategy .
“We’re focused on bringing impactful, human-centered ideas to life in our homes to enhance care excellence, while at the same time exploring solutions that can shape the future of the broader market,” says Killing. “The evaluation, made possible through the EAHN™ program, is a great example of how our partnership with OBIO® will help peopleCare drive transformative change.”
