Having opened the original 60-bed peopleCare Stratford LTC home in 1979, we are excited to have the opportunity to renew our long-standing commitment to deliver quality care and create exceptional experiences for seniors and their families in Stratford.
peopleCare’s new home in Stratford will have 288 LTC beds, providing more local seniors and their families with much-needed care and services, in a beautiful and welcoming environment. As a significant investment in the community, our development will also create hundreds of jobs and enhance the local economy.
With close to 50,000 on a growing waitlist for LTC in Ontario, more LTC beds are urgently needed. In Huron-Perth and Oxford alone, the waitlist is almost double the number of licensed beds. peopleCare’s new Stratford LTC home will ease pressures on existing LTC homes in the area, as well as help free-up beds in the local hospital for those who need acute care, supporting the goal of people receiving the care they need, in the most appropriate place.
peopleCare develops and operates communities of care – with a range of housing options that enable seniors to age-in-place with their care needs met over time. Once our Stratford home opens in 2027, in collaboration with our community, health system and municipal partners, we will turn our focus to planning additional care and housing options that suits the unique needs of the Stratford community.
