London High School Students Preserving the Stories and Legacies of Oakcrossing Retirement Living Residents
St. Andre Bessette High School and Oakcrossing Retirement Living are working together to commemorate the lives of residents through the creation of individual biographies.
“It’s a heart-warming initiative,” says Holly Jordan, Director Community Relations at Oakcrossing, “these students will gain valuable experience and our residents will have their lives celebrated in a biography which can be passed to future generations.
“What an incredible experience opportunity this is for my students,” says Kate Vauthier, English teacher at St. Andre Bessette, “I am eager to see and hear what the conversations evolve into once the students create their final product. These young writers are learning about the art of interview and biography writing prior to the visit, but I am confident that this experience will teach them so much more than just the curriculum.”
