Family Caregiver Programs

Our residents’ family members and friends are true partners in care in our Homes, supporting resident well-being and quality of life through social I am a caregiver heart badgeand care visits. peopleCare’s resident-centred Family Caregiver Programs were designed to support families and other visitors with a range of options for visiting, based on their preferences and the resident’s care needs (aligned of course with Ministry guidelines and directives). We are committed to ongoing evaluation of our family caregiving programs and welcome feedback at anytime to help us create safe and meaningful visits.

A Shared Commitment

peopleCare recognizes that our families are our partners in care, and we all have an equal responsibility to do our part to support a safe visit for everyone and help maintain a safe environment for all. Partners in Care Pledge

Designated Family Caregivers

We understand the importance of keeping families and residents connected and engaged, and we remain committed to supporting meaningful interactions while balancing everyone’s safety. As part of the resident’s care plan, and in partnership with our staff, essential caregivers support social, emotional and physical well-being for our residents. Essential caregivers are provided with training, PPE and ongoing support, and can be in the Home during an outbreak. We encourage all families to connect with our team to talk about how to become a designated essential caregiver.

Visitors and Absences

The number and types of visitors that may be present in a Home is guided by Ministry policies, and additional measures that may be required by local Public Health Units.
